More than 4 500 people defied the rain in the EDP Vitoria-Gasteiz Marathon Martín Fiz. The 14^th edition of the race included, moreover, 1 000 children that participated in the txiki version of the race. They were all winners of a race that is considered to be one of the best in Spain.

The race took place in different distances and modalities: 1 070 run the marathon, 1 762 the half, and 1 089 the popular 10 km race. Furthermore, 582 took part in the roller skates marathon. The organization underlined, moreover, the increase of feminine participation, constituting more than 25 % of the total number of runners.

Stephen Kiplimo did not give his rivals any option in the marathon. The Kenyan won with a time of 2:16:25. Laura García, from Alavés, won in the feminine category (3:05:32). Iván Acereda (1:08:29) and Pilar Morán (1:26:00) won in the half marathon and Iván Fernández (32:42) and Elena Loyo (36:21) won the popular race. The marathon in roller skates was won by Patxi Peula (1:16:18) and Berezi Martínez (1:29:20).

The first classified in the three distances, living in Spain, won the Energy Prizes EDP. Raúl Gándara and Laura García, won a year of free energy. Iván Acereda and Pilar Morán (half marathon) and Iván Fernández and Elena Loyo (10 km) won a year of free Funciona service.

EDP was present during the race and in different acts of the organization. The company counted with an area within the mall El Boulevard, where the race bibs and the runner bag were collected. There, it informed about the energy offers and services, and the little ones had fun in Desafío EDP, with presents for the whole family. In the runner bag, the company gifted participants with a headband.

On the day of the race, EDP had inflatables available and provided children with an applauder for them to cheer the runners, among whom there were EDP customers and employees. In total, 30 workers ran in the streets of the city.

Regarding customers, the company raffled 50 race bibs on the weeks prior to the event, and until May 22, it keeps open the promotion for other 50 runners to recover the costs of the race bibs if becoming EDP clients and making a new supply contract.

The following dates that the company will be supporting are the Half Marathon EDP Ruta de la Reconquista (May 28) and the EDP San Fermín Marathon (June 18).
