Gmp, one of the main real estate holding groups in Spain, specialized in the sector of high-quality offices in Madrid, has reached an agreement with the energy company EDP for the installation and start up of 68 charging points located in 8 of its parking lots in the Community of Madrid. With this collaboration, both companies reinforce their commitment with sustainability, one of their priorities.

The plan may expand to new locations, after analyzing the functioning of these first installations, that aim to boost electric mobility and favor the recharges to users of the Gmp parking lots.

With these new 68 points, Gmp offers the recharge possibility to the employees of the companies located in their buildings that use a private vehicle, as well as to the companies that have car fleets, and to the public in general, enabling some recharging points in their public parking lots.

The public access points will be started up in the parking lots of the streets Orense, 34 (10 charging points), Condesa de Venadito, 1 (7) and Luchana, 23 (7); the private use installations will be in Pedro Teixeira, 8 (8); Paseo de la Castellana, 77 (5); Paseo de la Castellana, 81 (10); Puerto de Somport, 9 (8); and Serrano Galvache, 56 (13).

The employees of the offices located in the building propriety of Gmp, will be able to use this service through the app Gmp Smart, that will enable a complete management of their recharges. Regarding the public access installations, they can also use “EDP MoveOn”, the platform of the energy company. EDP is also in charge of the maintenance and functioning of these points.

With this agreement, Gmp reinforces one of its main values, its environmental responsibility, while offering a new service to its clients.

To EDP, the partnership with Gmp represents the commitment with electric mobility as one of its strategic priorities and one of the solutions that contributes decisively to transport’s decarbonization. The energy company provides individuals and companies with more innovative products and comprehensive solutions, adjusted to each need.

The companies show more interest every time in offering charging points for electric vehicles in their installations. The goal is the use and expansion of the electric vehicle among workers.

The use of the electric vehicle includes multiple advantages like the absence of CO2 emissions and acoustic pollution. Furthermore, it reduces the dependence of fossil fuels and implies significative economic savings regarding combustion vehicles, as well as three times more efficiency.
