The Carbon Disclosure Project (CPD) evaluates the result in the reduction of emissions and places EDP among the best in the world

EDP has been recognized by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) as one of the world's leading companies in the fight against climate change. This non-governmental organization evaluates transparency and results in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and minimizing the risks of climate change. EDP obtained a maximum score of 100 A, joining the list of companies classified with the "A" grade, which this year has been achieved by 113 companies, 5% of all the companies evaluated.

This result is published three weeks before COP21, the UN conference on climate change, which brings together world leaders with the aim of reaching a global agreement to reduce GHG emissions (greenhouse gases) and limit the increase in global temperature, emphasizing the fundamental role played by companies in resolving this problem.

The CDP analyzed thousands of companies globally, according to an independent methodology, and EDP achieved the maximum score of 100 points for transparency and disclosure (CDLI) and A for performance or results (CPLI).

At the request of 822 investors representing 95 trillion dollars in assets, companies report their annual results, providing investors with knowledge to assess corporate responsibility and responsiveness to new market and emissions regulatory requirements.

The CDP, Carbon Disclosure Project, is an international non-profit organization that provides the only global system for companies to measure, disclose, manage and share important environmental information.

Recognized for this assessment, EDP's strategy to combat climate change is assumed as a management priority. The Group has a set of commitments that estimate action until 2030, and which were recently presented at the United Nations, at the same summit where the new Sustainable Development Goals were approved.
