masymas joins the Entama Network, created by EDP, as a collaborator for the agri-food projects.

Entama’s program, launched by EDP, reaches its third edition. This initiative intends to help local entrepreneurs that work in original projects, with the ability to generate an added value to the area in a sustainable way and with future prospects. The priority action areas are employment creation, environment, commitment with the local community and rural depopulation.

In this third edition an Entama Network is created, that will count with the participation of different companies. The first company that has joined as a collaborator is masymas, the supermarket chain with 100% Asturian capital, adding up to EDP’s project with an additional contribution of 20 000 €, aimed to support mainly agri-food projects.

Entama has increased this year its scope of action in Asturias, also addressing to all those rural municipalities with less than 5 000 citizens, or which population density is of less than 100 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The project’s introduction stage ended on September 20. Currently, EDP’s sustainability team is choosing the selected projects, that will be announced on November 5, and among which there are candidatures of 14 Asturian municipalities: Caso, Carreño, Sobrescobio, Teverga, Taramundi, Salas, Ribera de Arriba, Belmonte, Ibias, Lena, Santo Adriano, El Franco, Muros de Nalón.

With this initiative, ENTAMA NETWORK shows its commitment to boost the economic development and the employment generation in the region, supporting the launch and consolidation of its local entrepreneurs, in a particularly sensitive moment due to the current health crisis, that may affect the development of some economical activities.
